All women who reach a certain age in life will go through a period of time known as menopause. This is medically defined as the 12 months after the last menstrual cycle. It marks the end of the cycle. Typically this occurs in women while they are in their 40s and 50s, the average age being 51 in America. This is a biological process that naturally occurs in women. While it is rare, some women menstruate each month leading up to the last period. It is more common for women to experience irregularity in their cycles during this stage of life. Skipping periods is expected and quite common during perimenopause. When the perimenopause period begins, it is recommended that women make regular visits with their doctor. This is important for preventative purposes and also for addressing any medical issues that might arise.

Preventative health care for this may include breast and pelvic examinations, thyroid testing, mammography, lipid screening, and colonoscopy. Women are encouraged to get immediate medical attention if they notice bleeding after they have begun menopause because this is not normal. They should continue to set up appointments with their doctor throughout this time period to ensure that they remain healthy. This is particularly true for those who choose to use natural supplements for treating symptoms.

There are plenty of supplements that might be employed for managing this condition. Nonetheless, it is best if people take these under the supervision of their doctor. Even natural items may not be the best for all people. Products with black cohosh may be beneficial for relief of hot flashes. Flaxseed can also be utilized for managing flashes. It also has many other health benefits when it comes to female health and wellness.

Calcium-rich supplements are ideal for prevention of bone loss, which is common in older women. Red clover might also be used for easing signs and the benefits of vitamin D are also worth consideration. Wild yam may be used as an alternative to traditional hormones given to women.

Ginseng is able to boost mood and even improve sleep. American and Korean ginseng are both effective for use against hot flashes.
