By Jordan Schmidt

Women are said to be the fairer sex, and also the stronger. They want to know what factors affect womens health Reno, NV. Men statistically die at a younger age, have more heart attacks, and suffer from prostate disease. But women have their own ailments and psychological conditions. Childbirth can bring on depression, and the change of life may trigger cancer or heart disease.

Research however has discovered that women are more affected psychologically by major life events. Big events alter a woman's state of mind drastically, which may have a positive or negative impact on her health depending on the way she will accept it. This article lists some of the major turning points in a woman's life that will impact her health the most.

The age of freedom for women meant a change in habits, some with deleterious effects. Now we advocate moderation in drinking and smoking due to the impact on body chemistry. Women also have a unique sex drive that lasts longer than men.

This is also the age of sexual discovery. Parents must have taught sexual education to their daughter early on. Knowing how to protect herself will keep her away from sexually transmitted disease and more deadly illnesses like AIDS.

Moving to a new home or a new job also greatly affects the health. The body has a comfort zone and once you take it out from there, the immune system is shocked. Not only this, psychologically, she will be shaken as well because she has a lot of adjusting to do.

Women are affected by the environment: pollution, allergens, dust mites, and the like. Health can be compromised if they live in certain locations. A woman can have allergies to pets. In addition to miscellaneous factors, some of which are avoidable, women can have innate issues that require medication and supplements to correct. Some lack vitamin B or D, the latter if they live in a foggy climate.

Women look forward to pregnancy, but there can be complications. Some get temporary diabetes, nausea, headaches, and aching joints. Exposure to those with flu or colds can compromise health and threaten the baby. At this critical time, good nutrition comes to the fore to ensure a healthy birth. Any deficiencies arising during pregnancy must be addressed. A program of diet and exercise can make all the difference.

Pregnancy can bring about a compromised immune system. Nutritional challenges can cause the immune system to malfunction and the inability to properly digest food adds to the problem. If there are issues with the digestive system, then nutrition is lost and the immune system is unable to function at optimum levels. Before pregnancy, it is best to keep the body at its best shape and to keep eating nutritiously while pregnant.

Staying fit as a fiddle is therefore advised early on in pregnancy. It is not a bad idea the rest of the time as well. Women can prevent a lot of illnesses with an ounce of prevention. Cardiovascular work outs will keep weight at the optimal level and protect the heart. Heart disease is the greatest known killer of women and it must be the primary health consideration.
