Discovering EFT Or Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Technology

By Dorothy Lee

While electricity is most often thought of as a household utility, there are also other uses. One of which is that of EFT, or pulsed electromagnetic field technology. EFT is a healing process which has been used since the invention of electrical currents and systems. Only more recently have the benefits of this healing process become clear for animals and humans.

Originally adopted as a healing system for humans, approval for healing animals only took effect more recently. Once approved, veterinarians began using a version of EFT known as PEMF to heal race horses suffering broken bones or other injuries. After much success with regards to treating broken bones in animals, many working in Sports medicine began treating athletes.

There are also now commercial devices available which provide a similar type treatment. In most cases, these units are adjustable when it comes to the pulse and speed of the electrical current. In fact, a number of these items are now sold at various medical offices, drug stores and shopping mall kiosks around the world. While this allows more flexibility in obtaining these items, it also allows for more risks when it comes to safety. As such, most of these establishments require those purchasing these items to be over the age of 18.

The process, once approved by the United States Federal Drug Administration to be used in cervical fusion operations has helped a number of people. In fact, a number of clients experiencing migraines, sciatica and stenosis often tell great success stories during and after treatment. As such, there are now more professionals and clients opting for this type healing worldwide.

As some healing devices carry classifications similar to drugs, there are some EFT oriented devices which still require a prescription. In addition, any item promoting potential health benefits must also be approved by the FDA. As a result, while the FDA changed the classification of these type devices from a Class 1 to a Class 2 in 2015, those not available on the open market still often require medical approval.

The electrical currents used in this process can be beneficial when used correctly. When used incorrectly or without following directions, there can also be issues related to nerve damage. As such, those using these type devices sold on the open market need read all instructional materials before use.

Unlike in the early days, when anyone needing this treatment had to be inserted into a coil-based enclosed system, there are now other options. Some of which require expensive equipment and others which can be self-imposed with a simple tapping method. Most often, serious issues like stenosis and sciatica are going to involve more intense treatment. Whereas, individuals can often use a personal tapping pattern to help alleviate headaches and other minor conditions. These EFT tapping patterns and other information is readily available online by typing EFT into any search engine, then clicking on any links of interest.

As most of these devices are manufactured outside the United States, many are marketed as exercise accessories or personal use items. When it comes to those marketed for personal use, smaller versions are often distributed as personal massagers. As a result, when looking to purchase these EFT oriented devices, individuals are most likely going to find these items in the personal care section.
